Ten thousand CHEN-KAYU NAGA people inhabit 13 villages on the Myanmar-India border. Their area used to be pristine, but gold mining has turned the river into a foul-smelling sewer and many people have been afflicted with cancer after eating fish from the toxic waterways. This group is a composite of two closely related tribes, the Chen and Kayu
Great warriors and hunters, men were given facial tattoos to mark their bravery, especially if they had killed a tiger. The Chen-Kayu Nagas turned en masse to Christ starting in the 1960s, as God's Spirit moved in great power throughout this part of Southeast Asia. Because they have no script, no part of the Bible has ever been translated into the distinct Chen-Kayu Naga language, but there is at least one church fellowship in each of their 13 villages.
Pray God will bless them and cause them to grow in His grace and in knowledge of the truth.
