Exchanging The Truth Of God
The apostle John forewarns believers against the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life, but in this chapter, Paul strongly warns against the devastating effects of engaging in the lust of the heart. This sombre warning reminds us that while we can choose to either resist or yield to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the heart is all~embracing, and God gives those who lust in their heart over to their own evil desires.
The heavens declare God's glory and His truth is recorded in His Word, but man also has an inner conscience that is witness to God's goodness and truth. However, those that lust in their heart have exchanged the truth of God for a lie and will suffer the eternal consequences for their rebellion against the Almighty and their rejection of His eternal love. God sent His only begotten Son into the world that through Him we might believe and be saved from our sin, but they exchanged this precious truth and God's tripartite witness for a satanic lie, and worshipped and served the creation instead of their glorious Creator. How sad.
The truth of God is unchanging and unchangeable. His Word is imperishable and powerful, for the Word of God is living, enduring, incorruptible, faithful, and sharper that any two~edged sword. And God has even magnified His Word above all His holy Name.
God in His Word has forewarned us of the travesty and devastation that follows those who in their heart have exchanged the truth of God for a lie.
But God in His long~suffering, loving~kindness, and great mercy, has extended the period of His gracious forgiveness to include you, and to include me, and to include all who will turn from their sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, Who alone deserves our eternal praise and worship.
God bless you all.
